Anyone can start an Incredible Edible group.
The idea is deliberately open with no fixed template, no membership fee, and no permission needed from anyone.
You take the incredible edible ethos and make it work for your place, your community, and the people around you.
How it works…
Step 1
Find a few people
You don’t need a committee, just a handful of people who share the same instinct that something could be different. Talk to neighbours, put the word out, hold an informal meeting. If you eat, you’re in.
Step 2
Start growing something visible
Pick a spot with good footfall – a verge, a community garden, a school gate and plant something people can see. Visibility is what makes the idea spread. It gives people something to stop and talk about.
Step 3
Connect locally
Bring in other skills and other voices. Think about schools, local businesses, community groups, and anyone else who might want to be part of what you’re building. The three plates – community, learning and business – work best when they work together.
Step 4
Register your group
When you’re ready, register with the Incredible Edible network. It connects you to support, resources, and a community of groups who have walked the same path.

Before you start your own, it’s worth reaching out to a group near you – most are happy to welcome visitors, and there’s no better way to pick up ideas, ask questions, and see the three plates in action in a real community.
