What do Incredible Edible groups do?
Every group is different, but most start the same way: growing food somewhere visible, inviting everyone in, and building from there.
Shaped by the people in it and the place it calls home, some groups tend school gardens and run cooking workshops. Others plant orchards on high streets, set up community markets, or campaign for the Right to Grow on public land.
What they share is the belief that small, visible actions can change the places we live in.
There’s a place for everyone
You don’t have to be a grower to get involved. Incredible Edible groups thrive because people bring all kinds of skills – and all of them are useful.
Here are some of the ways people get stuck in:
grow something
Tend a plot, water plants, harvest produce. If you love getting your hands in the soil, there’s always something that needs doing.
Cook and share
Turn the harvest into something delicious. Run a stall, host a tasting, teach a recipe. Food is more powerful when it’s shared.
Spread the word
Talk to people, hand out seed bombs, post on social media. The idea spreads through conversation – and everyone can have one.
Use your skills
Design, photography, admin, social media, fundraising, events. Every group needs people who are good at things that have nothing to do with growing, and you don’t have to be physically able to garden to get involved.
Connect people
Know someone who’d love this? Introduce them. Building the network is as valuable as building the beds.
Just show up
Sometimes the most important thing is being there – at the plot, at an event, in the community. Presence matters.
Incredible Edible is all about small actions that feed into something bigger. Whether your group is starting with one planter or a whole orchard, every space transformed makes a difference.
